Software developers are the next business problem to solve, if that means you.
TL;DR
Business is under extreme pressure to implement AI agents in 2027, but it had 3 giant problems to solve first.
- Security
- Affordability
- Implementation staff
Cloudflare OS solves the first 2. Now, underemployed software developers need to be number 3.
This bootcamp is about putting devs (you?) to work implementing Cloudflare OS.
KEY POINT: There’s work to do. Let’s jump in with both feet.
About Why
Cloudflare OS solving the security and affordability nightmare is super interesting, but not the main point.
"Why Cloudflare OS?" is covered here, if you're into the fine details.
StandardPioneer bootcamp is non-commercial.
We deploy Cloudflare OS agents with a simplistic curriculum.
Our only human-to-human activity is to demo to each other from the bootcamp curriculum. The best examples can even be useful to ourselves.
So is that a bootcamp? If that's what we call it :) then, yes. The meaning of bootcamp, evolving...
Are we saying "bootcamp", but really just a hang to prove our skills to?
Are we aligned with Cloudflare in any way?
Nah. More like a fan club. "Dude, I'm dying here." becomes Woah, this actually works. I could be paid well for working (again?), with this. Legit!
There always seem to be companies that provide great free software. But then, that requires legions of support, and even training ➝ from developers! We expect Cloudflare OS to provide us lots of work, for 2027 and 2028.
One more thing: Take the smell test. Check out Cloudflare, the company. From one end to the other. Read the blogs. Examine their code stack. Listen to a video or 2 or 3. Inspect their pricing models. Is this the right shop to tie my fortunes to? Come to your own conclusion.
How does Cloudflare OS provide a path to billings/employment for our bootcampers?
Security and cost share an answer, which can be surprising, since they don't seem related to AI, at first. Until security and affordability are perfected, AI cannot even be considered as an option, for business!
Cloudflare OS is open source and built by a security company with a decade of free offerings. The two problems that look hardest, turn out to have one practical starting point.
Cloudflare has always done the impossible. Amazing security. For anyone. For free. Then, they took this skill set (and code base) and turned it loose on agentic AI for the enterprise. Cloudflare OS. Secure and affordable is how they roll - else their own offerings aren't profitable. We're just along for that ride.
Don't worry, they will still make plenty of money with another free product. And so will software developers.
There's plenty to do. Or, for at least as long as anyone is working, which is a completely different discussion to have, and perhaps not relevant here.
Bootcamp as Exposure to Standards
This might not be related, but we hope it's another reason to be here. Or, ignore entirely.
As soon as you are in the field helping a company build agents, these issues come into play.
Management Standards for AI are evolving too. This AI work is being done by institutions. The standards are moving fast, scattered across sources, and off-beat to learn at any scale.EXO and II are two examples. Our sessions take the experimental route instead: try a recommended practice on real agents, keep what produces a result we can observe, drop the rest. Move on.
Engineering gets the least attention, because vibe coding is so seductive. We treat engineering as a primary risk. Coding stacks took decades to get evolve, and AI-assisted engineering still needs measurement, testing, and standards you can hold it to. Far from where we are now, cough cough.
You may find that the agents engineered for Cloudflare OS are simpler and more maintainable. We're still experimenting - but that has been our observation, to date Oct 2026. This is a good sign.
Why "standard" pioneer?
Pioneer jokes go like "...that guy in front, with the arrow in his back." Not us. We are more risk averse than this wise crack may suggest. We prefer to be ordinary er uh standard developers, working to observable standards. Agentic AI - without rushing into the fails.
