AI standards are emerging from institutions. We picked 2.
TL;DR
Vendor guidance optimises for the vendor. Institutional standards move slower, argue more, and are dispersed across many sources that do not agree with each other yet.
Institutional knowledge can be harder to learn and more worth learning. We track 2 and test them; we do not pretend they are settled.
EXO at version 3 - now 10 years later.
EXO can be extremely confusing to injest on the first exposure - so we keep our summary here for the initiate.
The short version is that companies and vendors have been failing at AI and related improvements for decades, and the past decade has laid out some pretty straightforward success stories. EXO documents that as a specific path that can be followed in a formulaic approach.
II, a sober, risk sensitive approach to AI
II can be a bit less confusing than EXO, and promises benefits that are quite different than you might hear in the United States or the business frontier. You might find it a bit more trustable?
We mention it in the curriculum because it seems to have legs, and feels much less oppressive or scary. We wrote a summary with links here, for those interested in further research.
