You Are a Software Developer. Maybe.
TL;DR
This little bootcamp assumes that you are a software developer.
You can still fake it and show up as a lurker. No one will know :) But you won’t be expected to demo your skills or advance through the curriculum.
Technically, this bootcamp is for devs
How do we define a software developer for this bootcamp
But you can still hang with us, even if you're not a dev.
We advance our developer skills by getting solid with Cloudflare OS from front end to back end. We get deep in the weeds. We're generally nerds.
You may have other reasons for being here. Like
- you just want to watch what we demo
- you want to learn, even if you don't have the background
- you want to scope out who does what so you can find someone to hire back-channel, or even just help you out.
- you're just weird (like us).
We ran a dev bootcamp, before AI
Little bit of history, in case you're not sure whether you should be here.
Couple of us here ran a bootcamp for software development for years. We are really good at the bootcamp stuff (moderate, as devs).
- We know how to train for muscle-memory stuff.
- We know how to build skills with tech stacks.
- We know what almost always fails with human learners.
- We know how to promote the graduates! So they get jobs!!!
- Most importantly, we know how to have fun with this.
Our bootcamp closed in 2025, duh. AI codes much better than we could ever teach. Well, except for the vibe coding mess, anyway.
How do we define a software developer for this bootcamp
- You could write code as a software developer would, before AI (2023)
- You know how code for getting data in and out of files
- You know how code for getting data in and out of databases
- You know how code for transforming data from one structure to another (JSON to delimited etc)
- You know how code for getting data in and out of client UI
- You know how to work on a team using agile (scrum etc)
- You know how to use git etc for your daily work flow
- You are comfortable with the usual IDEs, CLI, and other like tools
- No big deal to move between many coding languages and ecosystems that all do similar things
- You know how get information requirements out of business people
AI changed a developer's job in 2025/2026. So the bootcamp test comes when you implement a Cloudflare OS agent in the enterprise.
The key word is magic. If you don't know exactly what the code does that AI is writing for you and how that takes place - then you are just a business person, and it is all magic.
This bootcamp assume that code isn't magic, for you. AI can write it faster, but you know exactly how it all works, under the hood.
What you won't get here if you're not a dev
We won't teach you how to be a software developer. If you don't know the basic functions of a database, or a JSON file, or a client side UI, or an API call, for example - you're on your own.
It's not that we can't help you with this, but this is not the bootcamp for that.
